With just one game left in the season, the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team will host rival St. Lawrence and try to finish off its season with a victory.

Clarkson enters the game with a 5-9-2 overall record and a 1-5-1 Liberty League record. After winning seven games last season, a win against St. Lawrence would give the Golden Knights their best two-year win total since the 2000-01 teams won a combined 14 games. The Green and Gold also have a chance to go undefeated against its North Country rivals for the first time since 1997. So far this season, Clarkson has defeated SUNY Canton 2-0 and in its last game, beat Potsdam State 3-0. In that matchup, senior Zachary Godin had the highest scoring game of his career with five points on two goals and an assist.

With his big game on Tuesday, Godin is now the leading scorer for the Golden Knights, with 18 points on eight goals and two assists. The 18 points and eight goals are the most for a Clarkson player since Mike Bud racked up 21 points and eight goals in the 2001 season. Godin now has 23 points for his career, making him the 45th player in Clarkson history to break the 20 point plateau. Joining Godin in that exclusive club is Tucker Wilcox, who was the 44th player to notch his 20th point. Wilcox has 16 points this season, on seven goals and two assists, and 28 points for his career. The 34 combined points for the pair are the most for any Clarkson teammates since Bud and Jon Banz put up a combined 38 points in the 2001 season. Godin currently ranks sixth in the Liberty League in points and fifth in goals while Wilcox is tied for eighth in points and tied for sixth in goals. Also on the Liberty League leaderboards is Kevin Calnan who is tied for sixth in the conference with four assists.

St. Lawrence comes into the weekend having clinched a spot in the Liberty League playoffs and a chance to win its third consecutive regular season championship. The Saints have an 11-3-2 overall record, with a 5-2-0 conference mark, and have won their last three conference games, all without giving up a goal. St. Lawrence has the best defensive mark in the league, allowing only five goals all season for a .31 goals against average. Its scoring margin of 1.82 per game is also best in the conference. St. Lawrence goalkeeper Ryan Roethel leads the conference in goals against average (.301), shutouts (11), and save percentage (.898). Clarkson holds an all-time record of 12-41-5 against the Saints and has lost 16 straight against St. Lawrence.

The two teams will meet at 1:00 pm on Saturday afternoon on Hantz Turf Field.
