Head coach Skip Fox announced today that the Clarkson University Alpine Ski Team will be making a move this winter to the MacConnell Division of the Eastern Conference of the United States Collegiate Ski Association.
After two years of requests and months of negotiations the Golden Knights will be moving to the more challenging MacConnell Division. The reason for this move according to coach Fox are “for stronger competition.” For several years Clarkson has been racing against predominately club teams while the Knights have remained varsity status. Clarkson will be leaving the Adirondack Division of the Mideast Conference and is looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
In the new conference Clarkson will face Brown University, Babson College, St Anselm’s College, UCONN, UMASS, Castleton State College, MIT and Boston College.
The new schedule will take the team to:
1/6-7/2011 GS, SL Pico Peak, VT
1/12-13/2012 GS, SL Jiminy Peak, MA
1/20/2012 GS Gunstock, NH
1/21/2012 SL Blackwater, NH
1/28-29/2012 GS, SL Whiteface, NY
2/4-5/2012 GS, SL Crotched Mt., NH
