Tim Hughes joins the Clarkson University Baseball program as its top assistant for the 2009-2010 season. A 2009 graduate of The College of the Holy Cross with a degree in economics, Hughes will continue his schooling at Clarkson in an effort to receive a master’s degree in business administration.
Hughes, a four-year player for the Crusaders, participated in 109 games since the spring of 2006, starting 80 times. Through 290 career at bats for the Division I Crusaders, Hughes amassed 69 hits, 49 runs, 16 doubles and 36 RBIs. He also proved to be an impressive defender for Holy Cross, making only seven errors in 288 chances for a .976 fielding percentage. He had just 13 passed balls and threw out 20 would-be base stealers while picking off four more. Hughes also played in the Hawaiian Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2008.
