Dear Lax Alums,
I hope you are all well and enjoying what is left of your summer. As usual it just seems to fly by and here we are at the start of school again. I am looking forward to the upcoming fall and wanted to make sure everyone is clear on alumni weekend. It is Saturday Oct. 10th and game time is @ 1pm. We are celebrating Clarkson Lacrosse 50 year anniversary so hopefully you will make every effort to get up for the weekend!!!
Since Gary Mikel and Tom Szarka do such a great job with our website it is redundant for me to go over the season and our accolades. We felt as though we had another good year despite our league championship loss. We were 4-2 in the league play and 6-2 in out of conference games with one of the toughest schedules in the country!! Lastly, ’09 was the 6th straight year of making our league playoffs.
We will be losing one of the best recruiting classes I have had at Clarkson University and it will certainly be a very difficult task to replace these fine young men both on and off the field. They were all team leaders, hard workers, good lacrosse players and great people. They are: Kyle Alexander, Andrew Bachman, Jon Cathcart (super senior!!), Greg Gibbons, Erik Hilfinger, Brian Hoey, Andrew Kott, Tim Leahy, Tom Ross, Corey Schneider, John Szvoren, and John Weinhold.
I would like to thank my seniors of this Golden Knight team. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and I hope we see you in October and for many years to come!! If you ever need anything you know where to find me.
Alumni weekend is always a lot of fun and I am hoping for yet another great turnout. Saturday October 10th @ 1pm!!! Following the game, all are invited to Sergi’s for our annual alumni dinner. Cocktail hour will be from 6-7 and dinner will immediately follow. Thus far golf on Friday has been sporadic at best. Let’s get a good group together for some fun on the course. Let me know if you are interested.
This year will be another great year for Clarkson Lacrosse and it starts with our alums. Last year our numbers were down, so call your classmates and make plans for CU lax 50th anniversary!! Call me at 315-268-3767 or e-mail me at lacrosse@clarkson.edu., if you are coming. If your not, give me a call anyway I would love to hear from you. I reserved 5 rooms at the Northern family motel and you can call the Smalling Motel # is 315-265-0709, and the Clarkson Inn is 265-3050, for possible availability.
