Despite holding a decided advantage in shots and corner kicks, the Clarkson University Men’s Soccer team lost to Cazenovia College 1-0 on the artificial turf at Hantz Field Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Knights outshot the Wildcats 16-3 and had the advantage in corner kicks 5-1. Cazenovia (6-6-1), however, would scored the game’s only goal when Tim Hartill connected on a hard shot from just outside the box, putting it into the top right corner of the Clarkson net in the 23rd minute of play.
Freshman goalkeeper Adam Lamoureux (Falmouth, ME) made one stop for the Knights. Ryan Snyder posted nine saves for the Wildcats.
Clarkson (5-7-1) will look to break out of a five-game skid when it hosts Liberty League foe Rensselaer on Saturday, October 24 in a 3:00 p.m. contest.
