Though Vassar enjoyed an advantage in shots and corners in the first half, the Brewers were unable to put any goals on the scoreboard thanks to some impressive saves from Clarkson goalkeeper Johnathon Rushing (Paw Paw, MI). The second half was much more even, but the Knights found themselves on the losing end of the game.

Scott MarkgrafIn the 66th minute, Matthew Belli carried the ball in midfield and took a hard-lining shot from 35 yards out that snuck inside the left post past Rushing. The Brewers picked up another goal on a penalty kick in the 73rd minute as sophomore Alex Freund was awarded the shot after being shouldered down in the box.

Vassar finished the game with a 13-10 edge in shots, but were out shot in the second half 7-5. The corner kick opportunities were also even with Vassar holding a slight 5-4 advantage. Jason Cetel made six saves for the shutout and Rushing made eight saves for Clarkson.
