Canton, NY - Axel Galeano recorded a goal and an assist as St. Lawrence University defeated the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team 2-0 in Liberty League action Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights fell to 3-7-2 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play while the Saints, ranked 22nd in the country, moved to 8-1-3 and remained unbeaten in the Liberty League at 4-0-1. Clarkson takes the rest of the week off and closes out the Liberty League conference slate next weekend when it hosts Hamilton and Hobart.

Galeano recorded his first goal off a header in the 13th minute with the assist going to Paul LaMarca. Though St. Lawrence held strong advantages in shots (25-7) and cornerkicks (6-2), the Saints could not put Clarkson away in the rivalry game. It would be another 76 minutes before St. Lawrence would add its insurance goal at 88:15 when David Osorno tallied his sixth goal of the season with the assist going to Galeano.

Senior goalkeeper Johnathon Rushing (Paw Paw, MI) made nine saves for the Golden Knights and Emilio Coletta stopped two shots for St. Lawrence.
