CLARKSON OUTLAST SLU for 3-2, 13-INNING VICTORY
Clarkson outlasted St. Lawrence in a 13-inning non-conference game at Snell Field when freshman Brian Demshar (Carrabassett Valley, ME) knocked in the winning run on a single to right-center field with one out in the bottom of the 13 inning, scoring classmate Matt Draper (Massena, NY) from second base for the 3-2 victory. The Golden Knights, who own a 9-17 overall record, have already surpassed last year’s win total (8) and have nine home games left on the schedule beginning with Saturday’s doubleheader against Cazenovia, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
 
Senior Earl Kipler (Orchard Park, NY) gained his second win of the season pitching the last three innings and allowing just one hit and a walk, while striking out four. Sophomore Brad Kenny (West Falls, NY) pitched the first 10 innings and did not allow an earned run, while giving up nine hits and four walks and striking out three.
 
After St. lawrence took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second with two unearned runs, the Knights scored once in the eighth and once in the ninth to tie the game sending it into extra innings.

CLARKSON SPLITS TWO AGAINST UTICA
Clarkson gained its second straight doubleheader split at Snell Field on Sunday, winning the first game against Utica College 4-1 before losing in the second game 6-5. Chad Roes pitched the Golden Knights to the first-game victory, allowing just one run on six hits and seven walks through six innings to earn his first win of the season. Ben Brown picked up the save in relief. Eric Pinkerton led the Green and Gold at the plate with two hits and two RBI. Willie Gould added a triple, scored one run and knocked in an RBI. Jason Zeronda, Matt Draper and Shaun Bowman each had a hit and scored one run apiece.
 
In the second game, Clarkson squandered a 4-2 Lead in the top of the seventh as Utica scored four times in its last at-bats to pull out the one-run victory. Brian Demshar went 2-of-3 with 2 RBI and one run scored for Clarkson. At 8-17, Clarkson has equaled last year’s win total. The Knights continue their 14 game homestand at Snell Field when they host St. Lawrence in a nine-inning game on Wednesday, April 21 at 3:00 p.m.

CLARKSON WINS FIRST at HOME in DOUBLEHEADER SPLIT with HARTWICK
Clarkson won its first game at home since late April 1997 with a 14-12 victory over Hartwick in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, snapping a 12-game losing stretch at Snell Field. In the first game, Hartwick won in extra innings (9) pulling out a 7-6 win. In the victory, Willie Gould was 2-of-3 at the plate, with a one double, two RBI, scored three runs and stole three bases. Brian Demshar was 3-4 with a double, 3 RBI and scored two runs. Robert Stoddard went the distance on the mound for his third win of the season.

KNIGHTS SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER AT ST. LAWRENCE
The Golden Knights split a doubleheader in Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) action at arch-rival St. Lawrence on Wednesday, winning the first game 5-4 before falling in the nightcap 4-0.

In the first game win, Junior Shaun Bowman (Ogdensburg, NY) and freshman sensation Matt Draper (Massena, NY), who was named UCAA Rookie of the Week, each collected two hits for Clarkson, which scored four runs in the top of the third and added one more in the fifth. Sophomore Dustin Breen (Jericho, VT) knocked in two runs on Clarkson’s second double of the game. Draper also collected an extra base hit.

Junior Matt Wright (Chase Mills, NY) picked-up the win limiting St. Lawrence to just four runs on eight hits through 4.1 innings. Sophomore Ben Brown (Wyomissing, PA) recorded the save, striking out two while allowing one hit in the final 2.2 innings.
 
The Knights, at 6-15 overall and 3-6 in the UCAA, begin a 14-game homestand at Snell Field this weekend hosting Hartwick on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. and Utica on Sunday at 12 noon in a pair of doubleheaders.

CLARKSON HANDS RPI FIRST EVER UCAA LOSS
The Golden Knights avenged their most lopsided losses from last season in a big way Sunday, becoming the first team to defeat Rensselaer in an Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) game.  
 
Clarkson took the second game of a doubleheader at nationally ranked Rensselaer handing the seventh-rated Red Hawks their first ever loss in the five-year history of the UCAA, snapping a 37-game conference win streak
 
The Golden Knights’ first six hitters got base hits as they exploded for six runs in the top of the first inning en route to a 12-5 victory. Senior Willie Gould (Saratoga Springs, NY) and sophomores Dustin Breen (Jericho, VT) and Rich Messano (Ling valley, NJ) and freshman Matt Draper (Massena, NY) led the way for the Green and Gold, each getting three hits. Breen (3-5) hit two triples, knocked in three rbi and scored twice. Gould (3-5) knocked in two rbi and scored two runs as did Draper (3-4). Messano (3-5) scored two runs and collected an rbi, while going 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs and one rbi. Sophomore Brad Kenny (West Falls, NY) went the distance for the victory on the mound to even his record at 1-1. Kenny scattered nine hits over seven innings, while striking out five and walking four. Junior Shaun Bowman (2-3) and Justin Driggs (2-4) and sophomore Jason Zeronda  (Clifton Park, NY) chipped in two hits apiece.
 
In the first game at Robinson Field in Troy, Rensselaer defeated Clarkson 7-4. Draper led the Knights offensively with two hits in four at bats, including his first collegiate home run. He had two rbi and scored one run.
 
On Saturday at Saratoga Springs, Clarkson dropped a doubleheader to UCAA foe Skidmore, losing 5-2 and 10-2.
 
At 5-14 overall and 2-6 in the league, Clarkson plays its final 16 games of the regular season in the North Country, beginning with a doubleheader at arch-rival St. Lawrence in Canton this Wednesday, April 14 at 1:30 p.m. The Knights begin a 14-game homestand at Snell Field this weekend hosting Hartwick on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. and Utica on Sunday at 12 noon in a pair of doubleheaders.
